As many of you may know Dan Quinn has named Wes Schweitzer starting right guard after a grueling battle with Ben Garland. What was the deciding factor between the two guards?
Consistency says Quinn
“It was so close as we went through the whole thing,” Quinn said. “[We saw] more consistency at times. If you went just solely on the games you really could have battled for either way. It [was] as close a battle as I’ve seen at a position.”
Here’s what the second year guard out of San Jose State had to say about winning the starting job.
“Whatever was asked to be my role I would have taken it and run with it,” Schweitzer said of his reaction to being named the starter. “I’m just happy to be here and work hard every day.”
According to Falcons reporter Kelsey Conway aka Falcons Kelsey. Dan Quinn has named Wes Schweitzer starter at right guard. Schweitzer was in battle with guard Ben Garland in the preseason. Garland is expected to be the backup to Schweitzer.
