3 Things I Want To See From Falcons Quarterbacks

2018 Season is right around the corner. If you’re as excited as I am, you can’t wait to see what the 2018 season as in store.

Starting with the most important player What are your expectations for each player?

The signal caller! The 100 million man. Matt “Get Fucking Set” Ryan.

Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan has to improve in the red zone. First and foremost staring with Julio Jones. We cannot afford to see the best receiver in the world with 3 touchdowns.

2016 – Falcons scored on 64.56% 8th in the league.

2017 – Falcons scored on 49.18% 23rd in the league.

  • In 2017, the Falcons scored on 49.18% of their red zone trips, good for 23rd in the NFL
  • In 2016, the Falcons scored on 64.56% of their red zone trips, good for 8th in the league.

Matt Schaub

Injuries happen in the NFL. For most of his career Ryan has avoided major injuries.

If anything happens to Ryan. Question I need answered is quite simple.

What does backup Quarterback Matt Schaub have left in the tank?

Can he repeat what Super Bowl champ Nick “lucky” Foles did in 2018 playoffs?

Only time will tell.

Third Quarterback

Kurt Benkert Garrett Grayson will fight it out for the all important third and final position.

I would give Benkert the edge above Garrett based on talent alone. Really looking forward to see what Benkert can offer the Falcons. Well that and the fact Grayson is a former Saint.

In all seriousness. If Matt Schaub doesn’t have much left in the tank… Falcons will have to hit the free agent scene.

Who do you think Falcons could bring in as the backup?

Colin Kaepernick perhaps?
