I’ve been trying to give Steve Sarkisian the benefit of the doubt being in his first year as offensive coordinator. After seeing possibly the worst series of play calls at the worst possible time….
I have officially jumped off the bandwagon and pointed my finger directly at Steve Sarkisian.
Not only did he call a shovel pass to Terron Ward on 3rd down. He called a sprint out on 4th down that gave Matt Ryan one real shot (Julio Jones) for the touchdown.
An IDIOTIC call from the very beginning. I’m not alone saying this was foolish. Here’s what fans had to say about Sarkisian’s play calling.

If Steve Sarkisian was still at Alabama, he would have kept Tua Tagovailoa on the bench. Georgia would have won the title, Falcons would have won this game. Sark is Atlanta’s biggest nightmare since Sherman

Who in the world thought Sark was some kind of offensive mind?! Hell…his playcalling was offensive
— Damien Woody (@damienwoody) January 14, 2018
The fact that the Falcons got this far with Sark calling the shots on offense should be applauded.

Sark's coaching career should end after this honestly. Left Washington for another Pac 12 school, alcoholism at USC, neutered a great offense. He's just unreliable.

Why was the fullback split out wide? Why doesn’t Ryan have a second read?? That’s your best play Sark??
— Dave Richard (@daverichard) January 14, 2018
Please leave Sark in Philly when you fly back home. The offense immediately improves.

Gonna be one hell of an offseason for Sark if the offense comes out flat here

Brandon Graham on the last play to Julio Jones: "When they called that sprint out, everybody knew it. Everybody called it out."

Is this look Sark going to get in the Falcons locker room from everyone? pic.twitter.com/qOy1CeNQ1k

LMFAOOOOO THIS MAN SARK CALLED A SHOVEL PASS TO TERRON WARD ON 3RD AND GOAL. FIREABLE ASS OFFENSE IF IVE EVER SEEN IT.

Biggest priorities for the offseason:
-New OC (Sorry Sark, we tried to like you)
— Falcons Kingdom (@FalconsKingdom) January 14, 2018
Sark needs to rip that bubble screen out of playbook and burn it.
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) January 13, 2018
Sark could have called a play with Julio, Sanu, Gabriel, Coleman, and Freeman on the field with the season on the line.
He chose Julio, Sanu, Toilolo, Coleman, Coleman. With Teco and Toilolo blocking. Think about that. #Indefensible

They had a fullback out there playing WR with the season on the line. I absolutely refuse to entertain anybody who advocates for Sark to return next season.
— local blogger (@fergoe) January 14, 2018
Roll out , cut the field in half, and only have 1 target. Great play call Sark
— Booger (@ESPNBooger) January 14, 2018
Sark lined up a legally deaf fullback out wide on 4th and goal at the 2 yard line and gave Ryan only half of the field to work with. Shoot this dude into the sun man
