Here’s How Steve Sarkisian Plans To Improve An Already Dangerous Offense

Offensive Coordinator Steve Sarkisian and Quarterback Matt Ryan are thinking of ways to improve an already dangerous offense. Ryan asked Sarkisian to take a look at his 2016 season (YES! HIS MVP SEASON) to see if there is anything that needs to improve.
Crazy right?

Matt Ryan wins MVP and still wants to get better.

Here’s what Sarkisian had to say. via

“I think that speaks volumes to the type of player he is, the type of teammate, the type of leader,” Sarkisian said of Ryan. “Anybody that walks in this building, when you see that guy working as hard as he works, it’s contagious.”

That’s the secret to success. Guys who are new to the game will look at guys like Ryan, Julio Jones who are on top of their game. Will get an idea of what it takes to be the best…. That’s how you build championship teams.

But let’s get back to the question at hand. How does Sarkisian improve the Falcons offense?

According to Sark

“Can we get better on third down? Can we get better in the red zone? Is there a way to get Julio more touches in the red zone and finding those matchups.”

Final Thoughts – As a fan I’m excited to hear that. Julio is without a doubt the best receiver in the game. He was targeted an astonishing 8 times in the red zone. Simply put… Give Julio the damn ball.

Dwight Freeney And Falcons Have Mutual Interest In Him Returning

Bring him back damnit!

Dwight Freeney is not calling it quits yet Falcons Fam!

Freeney said he an the Freeney and the Falcons coaches have been in contact on his possible return to the team.

I’ve already been talking to the coaches and going back and forth here and there with the draft picks and free agents,” Freeney said, per Sporting News. “That line of communication is still very open. They say they’re still very interested.

Falcons are expected to receive 4.3 million in cap credit Friday, which should go towards re-signing Freeney. Expect Freeney to have the same role as last year (mentor/situational pass rusher).

3 Falcons Defensive Linemen To Watch For In 2017

Falcons Fam! Coach Quinn will have the privilege of having a more versatile group of defensive linemen. If they stay healthy of course.

Ra’Shede Hageman, Jack Crawford, Grady Jarrett, Courtney Upshaw, Dontari Poe, Derrick Shelby, Brooks Reed, Takkarist McKinley, Adrian Clay born and Vic Beasley to name a few.

However! here are 3 players to keep an eye on the defensive line. Let’s start with Big Shede Hageman.

1. Ra’Shede Hageman – Falcons will have a much better chance of matching up with physical teams like Carolina Panthers. Panthers like to run right at you and get a body on your linebackers. With the addition of Dontari Poe, Quinn can use Grady Jarrett, and Shede in short yard situations and keep Deion Jones clean. This is where Hageman will have the opportunity to make an impact.

2. Grady Jarrett – Jarrett showed what he’s capable of in Superbowl 50, where he piled up 3 1/2 sacks. The Patriots were not going to let 2016 sack leader Vic Beasley have a major impact on the game. They doubled him every chance they got, which in turn left Grady Jarrett in one on one opportunities.

With Dontari Poe playing alongside of him. Expect Jarrett to continue to show why his Superbowl performance was not a fluke.

3. Jack Crawford – Here’s one I looked at closely. Dan Quinn did a film breakdown on what falcons fans should expect from Crawford. He showed the ability to get instant pressure in the backfield. Something the Falcons will need if Adrian Clayborn cannot stay healthy.

Final Thoughts – Vic Beasley is not on the list because I expect him to do what he always does. If Poe Jarrett can reek havoc in the middle. Vic Beasley will have the opportunity repeating as the NFL’s sack leader.
