Falcons Give Raheem Morris Another Job Title

Falcons shake things up

Raheem Morris continues to show how well rounded of coach he is. Dan Quinn gave Morris his third hat to wear by naming him passing game coordinator to newly hired offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian.

*Raheem Morris is also Assistant head coach and wide receivers coach*

Sarkisian was hired as offensive coordinator, coming over from University of Alabama after San Francisco 49ers hired former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan as their new head coach.

Falcons also appointed Doug Mallory as defensive backs coach. Mallory has been defensive assistant to Quinn for the last two years. Before then he was LSU DB coach 2005-07, co-defensive coordinator in 2008. In 2009-10 defensive coordinator in University of New Mexico and 2011-13 Indiana assistant head coach and co-defensive coordinator.

Many thought (myself included) Morris would be heading to the defensive coordinator position when Richard Smith was reassigned. However, secondary coach Marquand Manuel was given the position.

Manuel was involved in a situation with New York Giants defensive back Eli Apple.

Final Thoughts – Former passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson is expected to be leave. Most likely join Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco as co-defensive coordinator with Robert Saleh.

3 Things you should know about Kyle Shanahan vs Patriots

Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has the NFL’s number one scoring offense and of course Mad Mike has interesting fact for you guys.

Check it out!!!

What are your thoughts? Do you think this trend will continue?

Atlanta Falcons will not be punished for Eli Apple incident

Falcons Fans have been waiting patiently to hear from the NFL decision to investigate coach Marquand Manuel controversial question. During the NFL Combine Manuel asked cornerback prospect Eli Apple whether or not he likes men

For those who may not know it’s against the law for an employer to ask a potential employee about their sexual preference.

Well Falcons fans should be happy to that NFL will not be handing down any punishments. So Falcons Fans you can be easy and FINALLY rest.

What falcons fans should look for from Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn: “Play fast and physical is one of the mottos that we want to play by,” Quinn said. “We don’t play a lot of schemes and calls. It’s not what we play, it’s how we play it. Fast and physical is our style.”

Dan Quinn also said that his philosophy is to put players in a position to succeed. It’s interesting that he said that, because my biggest issue with former Falcons coach Mike Smith was that he did the complete opposite. And players obviously didn’t respond well to it. Especially defensively, ranking dead last 32nd in total defense.

Ken Norton Jr and Richard Sherman had this to say about Dan Quinn.

Ken Norton Jr.

“Dan Quinn is a really special leader,” Norton said. “He knows his stuff. His record speaks for itself with how he’s been able to work with people and put people in the right spots. His defenses have been dominating. So, I think what he’s going to be to accomplish on his own is going to be really good.”

Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman
“He’s great at relating to his players,” Sherman said. “He’s great at understanding the strengths and weakness of his players. He allows everybody to play to their strengths.”

All Dan Quinn has to do is put together an average defense. Then immediately the Falcons become title contenders. No doubt in my mind. With the Matt Ryan & Julio Jones connection, WHY NOT?
