Falcons vs Steelers Preseason roster battles

What’s good Falcons Fam? Falcons are taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and players are still battling for starting jobs and roster spots.

Here’s a few players to keep an eye on.

I’ll start with the running backs since we’re pretty much know Matt Ryan Matt Schaub’s are cemented.

Running Backs

Terron Ward with a strong performance last week against the Miami Dolphins, is expecting to continue his battle with Brian Hill for the 3rd roster spot. Kelvin Taylor, Jhurrel Pressley are expected to see action late in the game.

Wide Receiver

Marvin Hall a couple of mishaps in his first game against the Miami Dolphins looks to redeem himself, should see a lot of action along with Reggie Davis, Anthony Dable.

Tight End

Austin Hooper, Levine Toilolo spots are certainly guaranteed. Which leaves Eric Saubert, Josh Perkins, and Dorian Griswold to battle for the last two spots.

Offensive Line

Wes Schweitzer will have his opportunity to make an impression on the coaches to see who will win the starting right guard position. Ben Garland got the start last week versus the Miami Dolphins. Newly signed Austin Pasztor is expected to see action as well.

CJ Goodwin, Deji Olatoye, Akeem King, Janor Jones will battle it out for a roster spot…

Highlight of the game is obviously the debut of Falcons 26th overall pick Takkarist McKinley. He was held out of the first preseason game to give him extra time to recoup from off-season surgery.

What are your looking forward to seeing Fam?

Let me know your thoughts….

Falcons Fan Reactions to Jalen Collins preseason game

Atlanta Falcons corner Jalen Collins had a TERRIBLE game Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins. Exactly what he did not need after his second PED suspension.

Giving up a 99 yard TD to 4th string wide out that pretty led to Falcons loss.

Falcons Fans all over Twitter did not take kindly to his struggles. Here are some of the most interesting tweets you can find.

Devonta Freeman Agrees to 5 year extension with the Falcons

That Money! Money! Yeah! Yeah!

Alright Falcons Fam you can finally relax. Ian Rapoport is reporting Falcons running back Devonta Freeman has agreed to a five year extension with the Atlanta Falcons.

Falcons will pay Freeman more than half of his salary in the first three years.

The front loaded contract will allow the Falcons to potentially sign his running mate Tevin Coleman who is under contract til 2018

Final Thoughts – I wanted to know what Falcons Fans thoughts are on Devonta Freeman’s deal?

So of course I took a poll

Falcons Jalen Collins Suspended 10 Games for illegal substance

Falcons Fam Jalen Collins has been suspended without pay for violating the NFL’s performance enhancing substances.

This is Collins second suspension. Last year he was missed 4 games for ban substance.

Collins is eligible to play in preseason games. However, Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff was not happy with this latest development. Had this to say on the matter.

“We are extremely disappointed that for the second straight season we are dealing with a suspension for Jalen. Such are the consequences when certain choices are made. Our decisions going forward will be based on what Dan and I feel is best for the team.”

Giving Devonta Freeman more opportunities to make plays – Good or Bad Idea?

Falcons Fam were you wondering how things were going to change under new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian?

Well According to AJC DOrlando Ledbetter. Sarkisian has put a small wrinkle into the offense early in camp.

Showcasing running Back Devonta Freeman pass catching ability in unique different ways.

What are your thoughts on using Devonta Freeman in screens? Good or Bad idea?
