I sincerely hope the HOF committee feels awful for not voting for what is obviously a surefire HOF player in Tommy Nobis.
Being on a bad team shouldn't have been the deciding factor on whether he got to experience being inducted before his death

A former Falcon texted me today to remind me that both Ray Nitschke and Dick Butkus strongly felt Tommy Nobis belonged in the Hall of Fame.

I don’t use the word great often but it applies perfectly to Tommy Nobis. I’m saddened today to hear of his passing. I had the opportunity to spend a good bit of time with Tommy, and he was a very giving person and a hard nosed football player. #RIP

Dan Quinn says he told the team about Tommy Nobis' 294 tackles in his first season with the #Falcons and told the rookies, "I don't want to hear anything about a rookie wall."

Wow, 21 tackles per game. Amazing. Tommy Nobis was definitely one of the best ever at Texas and in the NFL🤘🏻 https://t.co/MBHpXdjhCc

Tommy Nobis would lay your ass out like a shot from a bazooka. Time and again. Nobody played harder, or was tougher. But he was also a gentleman with a big heart, unfailingly loyal to his family, teammates, friends, and his alma mater. We will miss him forever. #HookEm #60

Longtime Texas SID Bill Little on Tommy Nobis: "There are few players that strike fear in opponents the way Nobis did in his time."

Tommy Nobis is arguably the greatest omission from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was overlooked because he played on the worst of teams and not a lot of film of him exist (if any tbh) because I have yet to see tape of him
